Poker Room Layout and Access
The poker room is on Level Two in the Grandstand Casino area, away from the main floor action. Being tucked upstairs keeps it noticeably quieter than the pit and slots below. There are around 30 tables in total, with four semi-private tables separated out for higher-stakes games and final-table play. It functions as a proper stand-alone room rather than a couple of tables pushed into a corner.
For now, registration is handled in person. There is no confirmed online booking system for cash game seats, so the process is simple: arrive at the property, head to the poker desk, and either get seated directly or receive a pager for the waitlist. The room runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. While you are waiting, electronic table games and slot machines are available on the same level, which helps if the list grows longer than expected.
The physical address is 1133 Queens Plate Drive, Etobicoke, Toronto, Ontario, M9W 0G4. The main contact line is 416-675-1101 and the toll-free number is 1-888-399-4998. Poker room updates are also posted on X at @GCTorontoPoker, and checking that feed before travelling specifically for poker is sensible.
Cash Games: Stakes and Rake
Both No Limit and Limit Texas Hold’em are dealt every day. Confirmed cash game stakes are listed below:
| Game Format | Stakes Available |
|---|---|
| No Limit Texas Hold’em | 1/3, 2/5, 5/10 |
| Limit Texas Hold’em | 10/20, 20/40 |
| Limit Texas Hold’em (on request) | 50/100 |
Rake is 10% taken from each pot, capped at $20 CAD per hand. The cap is more meaningful than it first appears. Over several hours of play, the way rake is structured has a direct impact on actual profit or loss, so it is worth including that cost in your bankroll and session planning before buying in. Having a rough win/lose cutoff in mind before chips hit the felt tends to lead to more consistent decisions than improvising limits mid-hand.
Details such as exact minimum and maximum buy-ins, policies on changing seats, and whether any rake-back or promos are active are not set out publicly. Those points are confirmed at the desk once on site, or can be clarified by phoning ahead.
How to Register for a Seat
The seating process is intentionally straightforward. Go up to Level Two, walk over to the poker podium or desk, and tell staff which game and stake level you want to play. If there is an open seat in that game, you will be sent straight to the table. If the table is full, staff hand you a pager and place your name on the list; stay within range of the floor so they can reach you.
Before arriving, it helps to keep a few rules and basics in mind:
- A valid government-issued photo ID can be requested and must be produced on demand.
- The minimum age for the gaming floor is 19, with no exceptions for hotel guests or visitors.
- Anyone under 19 is barred from all 19+ spaces, which includes casino gaming zones and dining areas located directly on the gaming floor.
- Once seated, chips are bought through the dealer or via a chip runner, not at the main cage.
When your pager goes off, head back to the desk without delay. Seats are not held open for long periods if a player does not respond.
WSOP Partnership and Tournament Access
Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto operates under an exclusive relationship with GGPoker and the World Series of Poker brand. That exclusive status is significant: it is the only property in Ontario permitted to run WSOP-branded events, including WSOP Circuit tournaments that award ring and bracelet titles. Under this partnership, GGPoker serves as the official sponsor of the poker room.
One WSOP Circuit series has been confirmed, which ran from March 22 to April 1. A complete year-round tournament schedule is not released far in advance. The more realistic approach is to watch the official website at greatcanadian.com and the @GCTorontoPoker X account for each series announcement as it is made public.
| Partnership Detail | Confirmed Information |
|---|---|
| Exclusive WSOP destination in Ontario | Yes |
| Official poker room sponsor | GGPoker |
| Tournament types hosted | WSOP Circuit (bracelet and ring events) |
| Tournament calendar availability | Not published in full - check official channels |
Those semi-private tables mentioned earlier are used when final tables are in play or when higher-stakes tournament action requires a bit more separation. They are not included in the normal cash game rotation and are only opened when an event actually needs them.
